Adyashanti asks us to let go of our struggles with life and open to the full promise of spiritual awakening: the end of delusion and the discovery and expression of our essential being. After 15 years as a spiritual teacher, Adyashanti has found that the simpler the teaching, the greater its power to initiate this awakening.
On Falling into Grace, he shares what he considers fundamental insights to "open ourselves to that mysterious element that enters in the hidden and quiet moments and sparks a revolution in the way that we perceive life." Wherever you may be on your own spiritual path, you will find in these sessions down-to-earth guidance on breaking the trance of ego, experiencing the raw energy of emotion, cultivating inner stability, transcending the world of opposites, and more.
In the same way that we fall into the arms of a loved one or drop our heads on the pillow at night, we can surrender into the beauty and truth of who and what we really are. Falling into Grace is a program that gets to the core of why we suffer, and allows us to explore Adyashanti's invitation "to be taken by a moment of grace and fall into a sense of life when it is not separate from you, when life is actually an expression of something indefinable, mysterious, and immense."

I listened to the audio version of this book before reading the actual text. Adyashanti speaks freely from a profound depth that resonates with his every word.He covers a vast range of perspectives that all point to the same awakening. As with many of his talks, though he repeats himself often, I would find it challenging to outline his points and quote what he said. This is to say that the experience of reading the book transcends the content itself. One is immediately transported to the living of it rather than the theory of freedom, his words constitute the path/technique/meditation in the moment. He manages to make clear and simple what cannot be made clear and simple. Moving through words to that which cannot be described with words.I experienced FALLING INTO GRACE as a meditation in and of itself.I recommend this book to readers with an open heart, whether they’re on a spiritual path or not.
Just to qualify myself, I've been in recovery (AA) many years and am spiritual but am not a member of any particular church or faith. I enjoy reading and learning about spirituality. Hopefully that intro is useful and provides context for my review.I loved Falling into Grace. He clearly is similar in that he doesn't restrict himself to one 'book' or faith or teachings. He is interested in truth. While somewhat deep for me, it was never a difficult read. It is thoughtful and useful while keeping the reader feeling light. For today anyway, I can not help but be aware of my dualistic thinking and how to get beyond it daily after reading Adyashanti. It probably won't happen anytime soon but I would love to attend one of his talks or classes as Adyashanti's style of writing reveals a wonderful personality and teacher if you look and feel between the lines.Adyashanti is one of my new favorites.I don't know if my spiritual journey is similar to anyone else's but if you heard anything in common in my intro, I'll bet you'll enjoy this book and hopefully, find it as useful as I have.
I began reading Adyashanti's "Falling into Grace" with a soup spoon, taking big gulps, hardly chewing. Before too many pages went by, I switched to a tea spoon and went back almost to the beginning and took smaller bites and chewed Adya's words more slowly, allowing the nutrients he obviously placed with care to emerge with each bite. "What would happen if we were fully able to be with what is?" "Conflict isn't inherent in existence. Existence is just the way it is..." "As we begin to meet life as it is rather than as we think it should be, as we let go of our need to control and continuously interpret our experience, we start to open to life in a completely new way..." Two-thirds of the way through, I switched to chop sticks and as I saw the end looming, I'd grasp each underlined sentence and chew it until I was sure I'd gotten out of them what the author intended. Toward the end of the book, I was picking my way through with one of those tiny hors d' oeuvres forks. I literally wanted to read each paragraph twice before going on to the next. Amazing book!
I purchased this book concurrent with Loch Kelly's 'Shift into Freedom', after reading the Kindle Sample. For me it provides the broad and necessary perspective for major, positive change. Loch Kelly's text provides specific 'glimpses' to help facilitate this change. These are two resources I will read again and again, knowing that they will guide me to far more peaceful, contented times.
This is one of the clearest, most pithy introductions to the Perennial Wisdom I have come across in many years. It is one of the best contemporary restatements of the Buddha's Four Noble Truths I've had the good fortune to discover. I can't recommend this book more highly. Even after more than 50 years of study and practice, I found new insights in inspiration throughout the book. If you are a seeker do yourself a favor and read this amazing book. It can be especially helpful to people in recovery who, like myself, don't relate to the Judeo-Christian notion of a God or even Higher Power.Phillip Z. Author of A Skeptic's Guide to the 12 Steps.
The book's title is a perfect fit! I'm about a third of the way into it and I'm awestruck, heart melted by the warmth and clarity of Adya's narrative. I enjoy a variety of nondual approaches available thru Amazon, but Adya's humanity is very special. As I read, the sweep of his narrative takes my mind to unknowing, and my heart to silence. I've had a difficult year - full of pain and grief and loss, and my nervous system has felt stressed to the max. Adya is helping me to surrender, to surrender this 'me' to Presence, reminding me I can't know the answers - this pained heart can just stop, stop REACHING and seeking, and notice the Stillness which is always here....I feel deeply grateful to be able to read this....and on Kindle!!!
An inspiration read from Adayshanti. He writes so gently, luring me slowly into a healthy perspective for dealing with life on a daily baisis. A book to read a few times I think, and inspires me to read more from this teacher. Before reading it I had little connection to the word Grace, but after reading the book I feel very connected to Grace and how it can manifest in my life and the lives of thsoe arround me. Beautifully written and practical in its teachings this book brings peace, comfort and hope for the reader. Thank you.
This book is a brilliant explanation of how your mind/ego relates to your being/awareness and how it is possible to loosen our identity with mind/ego, thereby recognizing ourselves as being/awareness. It is like pulling back the curtain on what happens to our interior when doing mediation practice, or in doing the Byron Katie work. I really “got it†how insane it is to believe your thoughts. In the first place, our ability to recall is amazingly terrible, demonstrated by a research study. Further, he makes it clear how believing your thoughts creates suffering. This is a very helpful book.
